Quintet Astor Piazzolla Concert

A fiery event awaits us with the winners of the Latin Grammy 2019 in the category "Best Tango Album" - Quintet Astor Piazzolla. On Saturday evening, June 17 2023, Plovdiv will welcome the original ensemble of the official foundation of Astor Piazzola - the virtuosos who have been touring the world for more than twenty years as ambassadors of Argentine tango and of the composer who has become its global emblem.
Quintet Astor Piazzolla comes to Plovdiv after being applauded on the super prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, Philharmonie de Paris, Jazzopen, Ravenna Festival, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Hall, Berklee Performance Hall, Umbria Jazz Festival, Jazzfestival Basel and other notable music forums.
We will have the unique opportunity to hear live the stars of Argentine tango - a formation assembled personally by Laura Escalada Piazzola - widow of the genius composer and creator of a foundation named after him with the mission to preserve and promote the artistic heritage of the maestro.
The quintet includes classic bass, violin, guitar, piano and bandoneon and is the only orchestra that has access to the composer's vast repertoire and archive of unreleased works.
